The lining of a non-ferrous foundry inductor must have the following properties:

  • Melting point higher than the furnace body.
  • Low porosity and high density.
  • Chemically it must be compatible with the melted metal.
  • Its electrical conductivity must be very low.
  • Easy to line and sinter.
